From resources for lay leaders and board members, to continuing education for pastors or seminary grads, ASOM’s self-paced courses are designed to be accessible and to support lifelong learners in their ministry growth.
This self-paced course provides an introduction of elements of theology that are foundational and formative in the life of Christian ministry leaders in the Wesleyan Holiness stream of the church. Designed as a broad introduction for lay leaders, board members, and more, this course will provide rich engagement with course content without the academic requirements of ASOM's certificate courses. Note: this course does NOT meet MEG board requirements for FMC—please see our traditional programs.
Taught by Rev. Mark Van Valin, this self-paced course provides an introduction to how the Free Methodist came to be (History), how it chooses to organize (Polity), and what it teaches (Doctrine). Designed as a broad introduction for lay leaders, board members, and more, this course will provide rich engagement with course content without the academic requirements of ASOM's certificate courses. No. If you are pursuing education as required by the FMC Ministerial Education and Guidance Committee, ASOM’s for-credit Weslayan Theology course is for you.

The self-paced courses range in length. They contain 1-5+ hours of video content, as well as reflection prompts and suggested readings.
